Outstanding result of our S7 students in Hong Kong Advanced Level Exam 2010

Scholarships and Grant-in-aid Scheme

Objectives:
1) Aim to award and recommend students to excel in different aspects of learning through awarding scholarships offered by the school and other off-campus institutions.
2) The scholarships offered by the school not only encourage students to develop a wide range of learning abilities, but also cater to the school curriculum and learning activities.
3) Our students will be awarded the scholarships listed below with recommendation. The scholarships aim to acknowledge students’ effort through recognition by the general public.

School Scholarships Items
Aim to provide learning opportunities for students with financial difficulties and encourage them to develop a wide range of abilities. Man Kwan Education Fund has kindly provided the school with all kinds of scholarships in a form of study voucher, in order to fully assist and encourage students to grow and develop their talents.

QualiEd Scholarships for Outstanding Academic Achievement

Students being promoted to S.2 and S.3:
the first to fifth in form can obtain a scholarship of the amount at least equivalent to the whole year school fee
the sixth to tenth in form can obtain a scholarship of the amount at least equivalent to half of the whole year school fee

Students being promoted to S.4:
the first to tenth in form can obtain a scholarship of the amount at least equivalent to the whole year school fee
the eleventh to twentieth in form can obtain a scholarship of the amount at least equivalent to half of the whole year school fee

Students being promoted to S.5:
the first in class can obtain a scholarship of the amount at least equivalent to the whole year school fees
the second to fourth in class can obtain a scholarship of the amount at least equivalent to half of the whole year school fee
 
Students being promoted to S.6:
those who score 20 marks or above (with a pass in both Chinese Language and English Language) can be exempt from the whole year school fee
 
Primary 6 students who came first to tenth in form in the last examination at primary schools, with the recommendation of the primary school principal, upon the approval of the Education Fund, can obtain a scholarship of the amount at least equivalent to the whole year school fee, up to HK$10,000.

Scholarships for Outstanding Talents

1. The school will annually select one student with outstanding talents to be the “Star of Talents”. Students selected will at most receive a scholarship of a total amount of a full-year school fee.

2. Awarded to students who obtain top 3 positions in any local or international talent competitions a year before admission to our school. Students selected will at most receive a scholarship of a total amount of a full-year school fee with the funding approval committee’s endorsement.

Boundless Education Scholarships

1. Offer subsidies to students with financial difficulties to participate in learning activities, extra-curricular activities, study tours and talent activities. Students selected will receive a scholarship totaling the amount of $500 to $10,000 with the funding approval committee’s endorsement, in the hope that the students will not lose their learning rights and effectiveness out of financial difficulties.

2. Our school also provides scholarships not less than a total of $15,000 for students who wish to pursue overseas study tours.
 
Yung Lai Chun Scholarships

The scholarships are offered by our School Director Ms. Yung Lai Chun. Students who obtain 15 points in their best 6 subjects (a pass for both Chinese and English) in the HKCEE examination and will go up into Form 6 in our school will be awarded.

The scholarships distributions are as follows:

Students who obtain 15 to 19 points from their best 6 subjects in the HKCEE ---- Each student will be awarded $1,000.
Students who obtain 20 to 24 points from their best 6 subjects in the HKCEE ---- Each student will be awarded $3,000.
Students who obtain 25 to 29 points from their best 6 subjects in the HKCEE ---- Each student will be awarded $5,000.
Students who obtain 30 points from their best 6 subjects in the HKCEE ---- Each student will be awarded $10,000.

Off-campus Scholarships Programs

Yan Chai Scholarships Program for Junior Secondary Students with Most Significant Progress

The program is sponsored by Yan Chai Hospital and co-organized by the Careers And Guidance Services Section of the Education Bureau. In early November, our school will recommend our junior secondary students who have made the most significant academic progress to the scholarships committee in order to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to their studies in the previous academic year and encourage them to fully develop their potentials. Those nominated awardees with excellent conducts will be the ones who have made the greatest progress in the past two academic years and have participated enthusiastically in extra curricular activities. They will receive a scholarship totaling the amount of $600 with certificate in the presentation ceremony organized by the Education Bureau in February.

The Lion & Globe Educational Trust Best Improved Students Awards

The awards are given by the Lion & Globe Educational Trust. They aim to encourage student to improve their conduct and academic performance. With the motto “You can improve as long as you give a try”, our school will recommend several students to the awards in May and present the certificates at the beginning of the next academic year.

Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund’s Scholarships for Senior Secondary Students

This program is organized by the Board of Trustees of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund. It aims to encourage senior secondary students with excellent academic performance. Our school will recommend one S.5 student and one S.6 student and award them $1,000 cash and certificates in February every year.
